i'm not sure if it's the lack of sleep or the spill-over high from jason mraz's AWESOME ROCKIN' concert. but my spirits are definitely lifted. i honestly think that it was the concert that made me so happy today. i could not resist smiling on my way to work today. that, and a special guest is returning today. i can't wait. even with the news that i have to work the weekend has not dampened my mood one bit! at least i'll be in singapore and not in the batam yard. :)
the concert probably ranks the top of my list (well, as many concerts i've been to anyways... which is to say, not a lot). it even tops the LP one that ja, aloy and i went to. mr.a-z is a true blue musician AND an entertainer. i kid you not. and what's even better, i had the opportunity to witness his dorkiness/geek-ness up close! and you guys know how much i adore that. fang da tong and him are like my top mostest favouritest geeks. woots! along with greg sanders from CSI (LV) and danny messer from CSI: NY. and i shall repeat. i love the whole geek vibe. woots!
the concert started with 'live high' and the crowd really went high!!! it was such a high energy opening song! everyone in the audience just lept to their feet and danced! dorky dance moves included. one thing i really love about the concert was that he interacted a lot with the audience - 'citizens of earth.... are you feeling ROTATED' (cue rotating hand movements at the same time). he remixed well loved favs like 'geek in the pink', 'you and i both' and 'the remedy'. and he can really shimmy his butt. wahaahhaha.
the concert was overall positive and uplifting, with undertones of creating awareness (environmental/political etc). in fact, i think that's his message to the audience last night. that we can do anything. that it is so easy to be happy. his music really cured my weariness. so i sincerely thank you mr avocado farmer. thank you for making me happy. :)
today the old man told me a piece of good news; one of our vsls is the top vsls under our client's fleet. meaning; of all the vsls that our client has chartered to work on their projects, ours is 一番! woots! and our client's rep has thanked the old man and another of our tech supt for their hard work and dedication towards ensuring that the vsl was pulled from the slumps to become a top performing vsl for our client. i was telling the old man, doesn't matter if top mgt don't recognised your efforts. at the end of the day, if the clients think you are good, then the mgt got nothing to say (i.e. LL). so old man, congrats for the job well done. S too! the long hours, sweat and frustration is well worth it. :)
